That memory will hold you back, and with that MB you're lucky you got any OC at all (the g31 chipsets i've had wouldn't OC a single megahertz)

Up the CPU VCore to 1.35v, get your CPU to 3 GHz. Drop your RAM:CPU divider so the RAM is running slower. Yes, I have a G31M chipset, and yes, I have overclocked an E2200.

I had 2 g31 mbs, one a ECS and one a gigabyte. Neither would remotely OC frown.gif

My Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L and OCZ Gold 667MHz RAM netted an overclock of 2.7GHz for months with a 300MHz FSB (though the lowest divider I was allowed was forcing me to run the RAM over it's rated speed, even though the CPU's FSB was still less than that...), and I've gotten 3.0GHz on the same CPU easily too, but never tried higher as it was using stock cooling.

Likewise, a Core 2 Duo E8400 did 3.6GHz on it, but I didn't fully test/use it as such.

That same CPU is still in that system running at stock. The motherboard is rated for 1333Mhz, so you should be good until at least 333MHz FSB as far as the board goes. It's down to the CPU, RAM, and cooling.

Ok so should I increase the FSB and lower the multi?
FSB-246x11 at the moment.

No, keep the multi.

The E2200 isnt a great clocker at higher FSB. All it does is eat voltage.

Try 260 x 11, with 1.36v~....

And G31M can be a good overclocking chipset. Too bad you dont have an ES2L.
