i'm thinking of getting two thermalright spitfires as well as some arctic cooling heatsinks for two 580's sandwiched in sli. the spitfire's ability to install two ways lets me face them opposite each other and add two xtra fans too. airflow is not an issue, i assure you. but before i fully commit, i wanted to know if anyone has any experience with the spitfire, and also what anyone thinks, if it'll work just fine, etc.

I have a spitfire/axp cooler combo and it works great (although i have gtx480s, my mobo is not meant for real sli as it has 2x pci-e slots and there's only 2 spaces between them). The way I have it set up is the axp cooler draws air from top/sides and the spitfire exhausts. My temps with 100% gpu load (and ocd) is 64-65c on both cores (and this is only with the spitfire fan running at 8v on load, its a Scythe Kazemaru 2 fan with 12v being 92.60 cfm).
I'm sure you can orient the 2x spitfires and get even better temps since your cards are cooler by nature and u wont have to worry about cpu spacing.

awesome temps u got. i didn't realize how big the spitfire is, so i opted for a spitfire/hr-03 combo instead, and i'm gonna assume that they'll hit temps around 60 at load once i install them. i already have a dedicated pci fan blowing from the front. soon i'm going to install two more fans bringing in air from the top front, two vent out fans, one back and one up, and an antec spotcool as xtra cooling for the 580's, not forgetting the fans on the heatsinks. i can't wait to see what this badboy is gonna do
