Basically, I have this cable:

And this switch:

I need to know which of the 5 cables to connect to which of the 5 pins.

Also, do I need to solder this for it to stay in place?

If that is a Bulgin vandal resistant switch then this is how you do it

Red = LED +
Black = LED -
Yellow = one on common and one on normal open/closed depending on what the function is (open if its the power button)

dont forget the resistor for the LED or it will burn instant or it may work for a short time

Excellent, thank you!

It's an on/off vandal power switch. One push for on, one push for off - so NO or NC?

What is a resistor, and how do I not forget it?

Also, the wires won't stay hooked.. do I have to solder it or something?

Great.

What about my question regarding what pin to hook the second yellow cable to - NC or NO?
