post #1 of 23
Thread Starter
Hey guys want to Trifire a 6970+6990. Looking at PSU options, which one of these would be better. They seem ok and are at a very good price.

* OCZ ZX 1250W 80+ Gold Power Supply $259
* SilverStone Strider 1200W Gold $265

SilverStone Strider 1200W Gold or OCZ ZX 1250W 80+ Gold Power Supply or Corsair AX1200

CORSAIR AX1200 !

I would think a HX1050 would do the job though.

the two you have chosen are maybe the best with the antec hcp 1200. Also consider the CORSAIR AX1200 but i think the antec and ocz model beats them all.

have a look here :

Just read some reports that the OCZ has some fan noise issues, can anyone confirm??

1200 would be overkill for trifire... would it not?

You would be able to run a 1000w with no drama's...

EDIT: Possibly even a solid 850w PSU

I believe the Antec HCP-1200 is the best 1200w on the market.

I really wanted this psu, but obviously it would be over kill for my rig.

For gaming, 1000W would be fine. If it used for compute, 1200W would be better imho.

You wont hear your PSU over your 6990... You'll be lucky to hear anything

As mentioned above, the HCP1200 is the bee's knee's when it comes to 1200w PSU's
