Optimizing my 2600k overclock

Thread Starter
I'd like to read some suggestions from people with experience on how could I optimize my Core i7 2600k OC, I will appreciate it.

Core i7 2600k @4.5Ghz, 1.305v, Prime95 stable.
Using Prime95 hot core temps reach 75c MAX, 72c average.
Using Sony Vegas hot core temps reach 65c MAX, 62c average.
Idle is 35c average.

Motherboard: P8P67 EVO w/ BIOS 1502
Heatsink: Cooler Master 212+ with 1 push fan, thermal paste Artic MX-4.
Case: Stock Lancool PC-K62
Memory: 8Gb G.Skill 1600Mhz 7-8-7-24-1

The only settings in the BIOS I changed were the following (everything else is on default):

Memory Frequency: 1600mhz
Memory Timings: 7-8-7-24-1T
DRAM voltage: 1.60v

Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual
Turbo Ratio: By per core: x45 multiplier
CPU Voltage: Manual: 1.305v

And in the main screen of the EFI BIOS I have it set to power save settings.

This is the first time I overclock a CPU, any suggestions for optimizing my overclock will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It looks pretty good from here. I mean what do you want to improve on it? You can try OCing the ram to 2133MHz and 9-11-9-28-2N. You can OC the processor, or decrease the voltage and go to 4.4GHz.

A lot of things you can do.

If you're happy with 4.5, then it looks good, short of maybe getting your volts down a bit not much more you need to do.

Yikes... hot for the speed. Start dropping vcore.

Yeah. I'm getting average temps of 65C and an absolute max of 75C after 12hrs of Prime95. The 212 should cool better than the H50. Especially with push pull and high quality fans. Try reseating.

Could be his ambient temps that are really high, anyways visit the sandy stable club, you can compare your temps, voltages and cooling with other's.

My ambient temp is around 27c, I can't drop any move vcore because it won't be stable on Prime95, that's why I'm mainly asking for help, I wanna drop more vcore by maybe tweaking some other settings.

Also it's just a CM 212+ with one push stock fan, it's not push/pull.

try reducing PLL voltage to around 1.7, it should help you lower your vcore.

Well, I underclocked it to 4.4Ghz.

4.5 Ghz, 1.8 PLL voltage, 1.305 vcore, Prime95 72-73c AVG, 75-76c MAX
against
4.4 Ghz, 1.7 PLL voltage, 1.275 vcore, Prime95 68-69c AVG, 70-71c MAX

Idle temps are still the same though, about 35c.

I think I'm just going to keep it at 4.4 Ghz, I feel much more comfortable and 100 extra Mhz is just not worth it, I won't even notice it, thanks for the suggestion, do you think there is any other setting I can move? Also, if I update my bios will I get better overclocking performance? Is it worth it?

Thanks!

EDIT: Testing 1.265 vcore and 1.75 PLL, haven't BSOD'ed yet on Prime95, looking good.
EDIT2: NVM, BSOD
