That hilarious. OCZ was telling people NOT to RMA drives that experience bsod because it's not the drive's fault. If he does experience bsod, you can rma till your heart's content and each drive will keep doing the same thing.

Hilarious also that no "negative" stuff about the drive can be found online. Newegg is full of reviews that document it. Anandtech wrote a whole page about it and pulled his recommendation of the drives. This forum has had plenty of members experience it.

I wish you luck. You might be ok because you have an amd system.

I know OCZ have a lot of issues with their Vertex 3 SSDs using the latest SandForce controller, but if he experiences issues he can still send it back to newegg for a replacement right? He already bought the SSD he may be actually fine too.

The NewEgg reviews are very good for this SSD. Or I wouldnt have bought it. Even though you have to take those reviews with a grain of salt.

If I experience problems i will probably exchange it, but i usually tend to think most problems like that are user error, so i will do i all i can. If anything even happens.

Its actually a firmware issue, so you're either going to get lucky, or not. I did however hear rumor of a firmware fix coming soon that is supposed to finally clean this up.

As long as Newegg would let him exchange the drive for a different brand. If he's unlucky enough to experience the issue, you're no further ahead to RMA than to secure erase and start over. Both ways will bring you back to the same problem.

OCZ also blamed user error. They came up with a list of instructions to install the drive. All the users, including myself, followed their instructions to the letter. It did not help.

Now that they realize it's nothing the user is doing, they blame the Intel p67 chipset in the way that it handles sata 3. This is despite some amd users having the same problem. OCZ says the amd users don't have the same bug yet they refuse to elaborate on how the amd and intel "bugs" differ and why they end up the same way with bsod and the drive not responding until a cold boot is done.
