Tx850m?

Thread Starter
The recently released TX850M seems to be a good buy for a modular price/performance PSU. Is it fair for me to expect the TX850M to be of the same quality as the TX850V2 (and as such, I can use reviews for TX850V2 to base my decision upon), or does the conversion from all hardwired to modular have the potential to drastically change the original platform? I say this because I haven't found many reviews on the TX850M yet.

I would guess it would be based on the same platform as the V2. There isn't really any issue with going from hard wired to modular as long as the job is done properly.

If this is for your sig rig you know it's overkill.

It's for a new build, not sig rig; the power supply in my sig rig has long been overkill lol. I found Phaedrus' corsair thread which briefly goes over the Corsair line and mentions the TX850M (http://www.overclock.net/power-supplies/654983-corsair-psus.html). Seems to be a good, but not great, power supply from his writing.

If you're not desperate about modular then go with the V2, if you are then have a look at the HX series... Very very good PSU's at a reasonable price. The AX series is the golden top of the line series. Very expensive tbh.

TXM is different TXv2, it's a Channel Well DSG build, kind of like the HX750, HX850, and TX950, but built a bit cheaper.

So it's still going to be above par in the big scheme of things??
