x120e flickering vertical lines

Thread Starter
I received my x120e laptop last week and everything was fine... until now. The monitor suddenly started to have many flickering horizontal lines. I heard this problem was common but I though Lenovo fixed it by a bios or chipset update. I rebooted my laptop and it returned to normal, but I don't want this to ever happen again.
I currently have ATi Catalyst 11.8 drivers. I'm on windows 7 home premium x64.

Do you know how I may fix this definitely?

Specs:
CPU: E-350
RAM: 2GB DDR3-1333 (runs at 1066)
SSD: OCZ Vertex 2 60GB
Bios: 1.14

Download the latest BIOS update from Lenovo, unplug the computer and pull your battery and hold your power button for 12 seconds, put the battery back and plug the computer back in, install the BIOS update.

So far as I know that should fix the problem. (Really the only "required" step is applying the BIOS update, but I like to power cycle before doing that.)
