Some of the reference design 570s failed during the early batches. I'm not sure if they do anymore. Get a non-reference version like MSI TF II/III or Asus DC II. They're all good cards.

I saw your post yesterday in which you receive allot of help from Two Cables. Are you still buying a pre-built system from cyberpowerpc or have you decided to take two cables advice (the system he built for you)? I don't remember the entire thread, but what he put together for you was a good system for your needs...gaming.

Also, the above post about the 570 MSI twin frozr III is accurate. It's a good gpu.

I have a msi gtx570 and haven't been happy with the stableness, but bump the voltage up a notch or two solved it. To be honest i'm sending it in for rma but after bumping the V's it works great, think it will be a good card for a few years

Stay with the 570. Although the 580 has more horsepower the 570 is capable of very similar results for a significantly cheaper price point. I think the difference between the cards is ~10% and the price points differ by around £80.

The problem with the 570s was with VRMs, they weren't up to scratch for overclockers so they burnt out. They're fine at stock.

If you'd like a 570 to clock hard, check out ones with upgraded VRMs. I believe the reference design uses a 4+2 design.
The Asus DCUII uses a 6+2 IIRC
The MSI Twin Frozr III uses a 7 VRM design, not sure but I think this is a 6+1

I believe the Twin Frozr II doesn't have upgraded VRMs but I could be wrong.

I've also heard that the reference design has been updated with better VRMs. Not sure how to differentiate or if it's even true.

I've just ordered myself a Twin Frozr III and can't wait for it to get here
