New build have some of equipment

Thread Starter
I need to to get the rest of my build. My footer has what equipment I currently have. This is a gaming rig that will be overclocked.

I need to get the following pieces of equipment.

Memory: Budget $75 I am thinking 8megs a little over kill but i dont want to upgrade it in a year.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233180

Hard Drive: Budget $75 If there is a way to save a little on other things will get SSD

Cooler: Is the paste that comes with coolers good or should I go with ARCTIC COOLING Arctic Cooling MX-4 budget $75. need something that will fit good with board and case and not get in the way of the ram.

Video Card:Budget $250-$300 Been looking at the 6950 2mb for around $270ish. I have been told that nvidia might be better since I am only going with one monitor and 1 video card and using it just for gaming.

Monitor: budget $200

Dvd burner, keyboard, mouse, etc.

thanks

Well known to be one of the current best drives around

Cpu cooler = $75.90
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118074

Epic performance and no memory fouling issues. I use this cooler and have nh-d14 performance at less cost + saves me a heap of space in my case

Gpu + $204.00 after rebate

Alot of bang for buck right here. + alot quicker than a 6950 and you do not need 2gb ram this is perfect for a single monitor setup.

Monitor = $234.99

You wont get bigger for the price and the picture quality is superb, I have this monitor and absolutely recommend it.

I would change the cooler for a Noctua NH-D14, this way, it's pretty much the same since the included paste is very good so you don't spend like another 10$ to get some better one like you would need to with the Zalman. Also, it's a very old cooler and I doubt it's just as good by today's standarts. On the other side, the NH-D14 is the best air cooler right now. If you prefer the look, the Thermalright Silver Arrow is just as good and quiet. For the GPU, I would get a GTX 570. They can often be had for a very low price and max out EVERY game at 1080P (Including the patched Crysis 2, Metro 2033 won't work (bad optimization) and neither will Witcher 2 with Ubersampling (But that's just impossible)). The Ripjaws X might not fit with some large air coolers like the NH-D14 or the Silver Arrow but the Vengeance Low Profile RAM from Corsair is just as good and will fit for sure.
