This whole setup will cost about 300 pounds + VAT

HDD (you can probably reuse your old HDD if it's SATA type): Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATAIII 6Gb/s 16MB Cache 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive OEM: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories for 32.20

Motherboard: Asrock Socket FM1 A75M Micro-Atx Motherboard: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories for about 74 pounds

CPU: AMD A8-3850 Quad-Core Processor - 2.9GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, Socket FM1, APU, Radeon HD 6550D: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories this includes an integrated AMD HD6550 gpu for about 102.50 pounds. It will play games at a decent speed, on medium settings. I can almost guarantee that Counterstrike and Left 4 Dead 2 will play on max at around 40-60 fps. If you install an AMD graphics card with it (in the HD6000 series), the graphics card and the integrated graphics work together, so the performance is boosted

Power Supply: Colors 400W Gold 12Cm Silent Atx Power Supply: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories. 400 watts should be enough for this build. Costs about 20 pounds

Case: Cooler Master RC-370-KKN1 Elite 370 Midi Tower PC Case: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories for 35 pounds. You cannot use your old Dell case because they use proprietary form factors in their cases.

4gb RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 4GB DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM Kit: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories about 18 pounds. You can't reuse your Dell's ram becuase it may be DDR2 or older and it may not work with the new motherboard.

Optional Parts if you can afford a little bit more:

Fan (optional if you want better cooling): Cooler Master 12cm SickleFlow System Fan - Green: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories 4.17 pounds

Graphics card AMD HD6770: Sapphire 11189-00-20G HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 Graphics Card: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories Those should let you play most modern games on High at high resolution. Having this paired with the AMD A series CPU, this should equal the performance of an HD6870 (if i'm not mistaken).

DVD drives can be reused if it's SATA, but here is one for 14 pounds if you need one LG GH22NS50.AUAA 22x SATA DVDRW Drive - Bare Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

You're welcome. I did the best I can finding these parts. I searched Amazon UK for these since Amazon is usually my first choice in online shopping, and also so I can easily count the budget in British Pounds (since I am from the US).
