I always thought the elitebook range were the cream of HPs crop. Anyways why would you buy an Apple when she has being using windows and has being getting on with it just fine? Plus their way overpriced for what they have in them. You don't need an i7 for the tasks listed above, get an i3 or i5 and some RAM upgrades and shes set.

I think you are right, I think She'll just need the warranty protection and no quad.

As for everyone, thanks I gave reps to.

I'll take a look at the Lenovo laptop lines.

EDIT: I've been looking at those Lenovo thinkpad and ideapad deals page, what are the differences between the thinkpad and ideapad? Is one name better than the other?

Err, not sure, but I recall people saying that Thinkpads were the cream of the crop, and Ideapads just fall flat on their face. Not sure why, you'll have to ask someone else - sorry.

Ive had both, My y510 ideapad worked great for home user stuff. I think my Thinkpads are much better but I run some heavy programs on those.

Ok. So it's MBP, ENVY, and ThinkPad... Looking at the prices, the Thinkpad would win... I guess I'll have her choose between the 3 since it's all been settled on what will be enough for her.

Thanks rep+

Glad you came to a decision. Make sure you check out slickdeals before you buy one. Sometimes there are some pretty nice deals there.

Well not really a decision, I would say the Thinkpad, but ultimately, this will be her choice, I just gotta break it down to easy pebbles for her to choose from.

Yeah I know... love slick deals.
