URGENT: Radiator Installation Help!

post #1 of 5

URGENT WHY: Japanese presentation due tomorrow.

In my infinite wisdom, I decided to try and upgrade my radiator by adding three more identical fans to complete the push/pull configuration I had planned. Unfortunately, I couldn't install it simply because...well, I couldn't. The holes wouldn't align for the screws and, since there's an entire 25mm fan blocking the way, I couldn't really see it either.

How did you guys do it? If it helps:

CASE: CM HAF932
Radiator: XSPC RX360
Fans: [6] Yate Loon High Speeds

Help is greatly appreciated, and time is of the essence!! ><;;

EDIT: installed as a top rad. Again, please help!

To line the fan up, I put a screw driver though the fan hole and the push it in to the rads hole(make sure its not guna go through and stab the rad itself), then you can slide the fan down the screwdriver then get the fan square and the other holes should be lined up.

So to rephrase what I think you said:

You slid a slim screwdriver through the fan's screw hole to the point where it went through the rad's screw hole. Then, you slid the fan off of the screwdriver and aligned the fans, correct?

Well...that's fine and dandy; last night while trying to install it, I screwed in half of the fans holes into the respective rad holes to align all of the fans; the problem is transporting it from outside of the case into the top of the case and then screwing them in. The fans moved, messing up the alignment and hindering my ability to screw them in.

Thanks for your help though...anyone else? ><;;

some tape to hold the fans in place while you move it from outside the case to inside the case. . .

Hope I'm getting this right.

I think I know what you're going through.

Can you lay the case down on it's side?

If so, take your fans, and put them where the screws are gonna go.

0______X__0_____X

X______0__X_____0

The fans should hold slightly on the screws you put into the holes ( the X's ). Next bring the rad up to the screws and just try screwing one of the corners. Then the complete opposite corner. Afterwhich most screw holes should be aligned (mostly).
