Which GTX 460 should I get?

Thread Starter
I am stuck between these two cards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130570
and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130565

also this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121391

Now I have heard that the top link, the one with the fan in the middle of the card, has had some issues with Windows vista and 7, like getting stuck at welcome screen, or games get lagged very bad, or getting BSOD very often.

That card has 4 eggs, due to all the crashes.

-The second card, the one with fan on the end of the card, has 5 eggs, but I am not sure if that card runs cooler, nor quieter.
I see also this card has 48% buy rate, and the top card has 28% buy rate.

The Asus, the third link i heard doesn't heat or isn't as loud.

I just need my mind made up for me, please which card should I get, I am slightly closer the the second card, but I am not sure if that fan can work as well as the other.

Please don't recommend me other cards, or SLI, because I cannot.

Thank you very much,
sorry for long essay.

I have the card in your first link. I used to have problems with BSOD's which subsided as did a clean install of win7. I honestly cant jusdge the ASUS card. I would personally go for the 2nd EVGA card since its a EE card which could be an advantage in smaller cases.
Choose which one you like the most or wait for further comments and suggestions to help you choose the best bang for your buck. Good Luck.

I'd get the ASUS DirectCU card especially since with the rebate the price is lower than the other 2 cards with the rebate. You'll be able to overclock the card better since it has a better heatsink, or if you keep it at stock it will run cooler and won't be as loud.

I have the ASUS card and can say its quiet. its under 60c under load in my rig at stock. OC's to 850 core and 2000 mem on mine but havent tried going any higher...

The ASUS definitely has the upper hand in cooling; EVGA's stock cooling solutions can't really compete with it.

However, EVGA has its support and RMA teams as great perks; I've dealt with them several times, and have always been very satisfied with the service there. I haven't had the chance to ever do an RMA from ASUS.

If you decide to go with one of the EVGA cards, grab the one with the center fan. From my experience through the five External Exhaust 460s that I own, they all tend to run rather hot. The only one that I own with a center-mounted fan runs much cooler while folding.

Most of you said I should get the ASUS, but I was also wondering this.

I have a cooler master 500w PSU, and this GPU needs two 6 pin connectors, and I only have one coming from the PSU.
I know I can do the molex to the 6pin convertor, and just wanted to make sure, this is okay right? Nothing wrong with that? The coolerm aster PSU is very nice.

I cannot find what the minimum requirement PSU watt for the GPU is?
I am thinking 450?

a quality 500w should power a 460 no problem, hell a quality 550w could run SLI 460w. Your PSU is not the best however it should do the job.

Compared to the other GPUs the ASUS is
Core Clock
675MHz

Shader Clock
1350MHz

I know you could overclock, but that would just increase heat, is it not better to buy the EVGA card and not have to deal with OC at all?
