nobody should be using the L85A1 anymore those things jam up like crazy!
L85A2=WIN

so this is a USA vs RUSSIA right? what happened to NATO and stuff? i'd expect British and French guns there...

Trust me, that's the weapon I leveled first, and with the bipods, extended mags (200 ammo!) and a nice scope, you can set up camp on a sandbag, or in the subway, throw down an ammo pack and never run out.

Glad to see an SKS in there, never seen one in a video game before. Only its predecessor SVT-40, which shoots a 7.62x54. Hopefully the calibers arn't to nerfed and respresent what really happens.

Very interesting for DICE to have the Russians use a Finnish Mosin and not a Russian Mosin... Theres only like a billion available in this world. I mean they used the rifles in service from before WWI to the Cold War..

But awesome none the less.

Im not too sure about the Glocks, they have never received a US Gov contract for the Military. Due to no manual safety. Great guns, just doesnt fit the profile of a USMC they normally only use a M9 or a 1911 issued.

Though I would rather much see a Sig p226 , issued side arm of the Seals since the 1980's.

I'm ok with everything else. Doesn't really bother me. In the end they all shoot virtual bullets

And this really REALLY needs to be said...

ARs (M16 and family) are reliable, AK47s are accurate. All depends on how well you maintain it. Are ARs more finicky than AKs? Sure. If you want to make any further assertions, do a google search or join AR15.com. There are some guys who run their rifles absolutely ragged without cleaning anything out.
ARs aren't reliable at all. Worse thing the US army chose. Also, the 47 is inaccurate compared to the AR family.

No, they don't M16, or M4s at all, they own AR-15s with different sized barrels.

Because it's illegal to buy an M16 or M4 without the right stuff. A semi-auto M4 is just an AR-15, I may looks like an M4 but it's different, and also fires lesser ammunition.

You missed my question - how do you know how reliable the M16/4 is and how do you know how accurate the AK47 is? But first, let's address your issues...

Less ammunition or lesser ammunition? Black Hills Mk 626 is what the Marines use and we can definitely buy it. Performs a sight better than M855 too. If you're talking ammo cap, we can buy any 30 rounder STANAG mag out there. When 40, 60, and 100 rounders are available we can buy those too. Oh and, C-Mags are available, as well as SAW-MAGs.

The only difference between a military rifle and a civilian rifle is the trigger group - true. I never disputed this, but good job knowing that M16s and M4s aren't sold to the public. Here's a fun fact - you can purchase the same lower used in the M4. In fact, you can purchase everything used in the M4 from Colt Mfg except for the trigger group. HUGE difference, I know. But either way, the gas system is exactly the same -

Which brings up my point. ARs are reliable and AKs are accurate. For the AK statement let's go with a circumstantial scenario - would you stand in front of a man firing an AK at you at 100 yards?

For the AR reliability issue let's start by going through why it was unreliable.
1. billed as "self cleaning" which is patently wrong - fixed by telling soldiers to perform proper maintenance.
2. bad ammo - the powder used early in the Viet Nam war gummed up when exposed to moisture. This caused a lot of squibs. - fixed by switching powder type
3. excessive fouling - fixed with chromed chambers and bores
4. tilted followers - fixed with anti tilit followers
5. fouled - not fixed when maintained by negligent owners or troops. Fixed otherwise.

There's a famous Bravo Company Machine made AR that's run thousands of rounds and been cleaned once. Still running strong. Oh right, it's not an M16... but it has EXACTLY THE SAME GAS SYSTEM.

And finally, here's a good place to start looking for M16/M4 reliability:

He even asked Kit Up! to help provide specific information on Soldiers’ gripes about the M4 and we had to admit they were not backed up by actual hard data on failures or fouling in a fight.
