Go modular?

Thread Starter
hey everyone. I'm looking for a good modular psu that's around 500watts. is there anything out there that's modular and not very expensive. I'm hoping to find something around $60-$70 if possible, max. I just picked up a corsair gs600 and there's way too many cables that are un-needed and just clutter everything like crazy. also I would be willing to settle on a non-modular psu if there's something nice with not too many cables. please if you have suggestions post your links. thanx all

The OCZ Fatal1ty 550W would serve you well. It's a small downgrade in quality from the GS600 but it's cheap and modular. There really aren't a lot of modular units in that wattage range, because there's not much of an audience for them. When you end up using most of the cables on a unit anyway, the fact that it's modular doesn't make much of a difference in the end.

thanx guys. I actually am fine going with non-modular it's just that I can't seem to find anything that looks like a good deal. also, maybe this gs600 just has too many wires and other psu's won't be as messy. maybe an antec earthwatts 430?

I'm guessing the system in your sig isn't the system this PSU is for?

no it's not the same as my sig rig. I've already finished building everything on my new rig but don't like the gs600. there's an unbelieveable amount of cables and it just makes the inside of my pc a mess. all the cables are braided and are so stiff. they are also very thick and it's just annoying having so many cluttered in there.
