Need Suggestions: GS won't re adjust bought PS3 price

Guys, I would love some advise.

I recently read that Sony did a 50 dollar permanent price drop for the PS3.

I bought a PS3 last month there on the 21st (7/21).

called the branch and said they don't do any rain checks.

suggestions please?

I don't understand the "refund for opened items":

• Opened new merchandise may be exchanged for the identical item within 30 days of purchase but, with
the exception of opened new accessories, cannot be returned for a refund


Thanks in advance for the help.. (disheartening cuz i lke brick stores. Should have waited for Amazon or BB to have restocked it last month in our area in San Diego)

What don't you understand about it? If it's a new item and you open it, you can only exchange it for the same thing, no refund. This goes with any store/item.

And I don't see why you would expect them to pricematch when you bought it a month ago. I could see if it was the next day...maybe. but you decided to buy it when you did. They shouldn't be responsible to pay everyone back because Sony dropped the price.

I was hoping they had a 30 day thing.. like target where i recently bought a netbook... 90 day return.. (money back). I think that costco and BB has a similar better policy. My fault for not being able to research more about Gamestop.

Clerk i called today said "they don't do rainchecks".

Are you sure that is for open electronics? Most stores (as far as I know) have very strict no refund policies on open electronics, no matter how soon after purchase.

I bought a refurbished ps3 on Monday, 1 day before price drop! I spoke to the location, apparently its a manager decision if they let you return it. They said I could get store credit back for mine and get whatever I wanted which is cool with me. I'd just go there with the ps3 and plead your case.

It's much easier for someone to turn you down over the phone as opposed to you standing in front of them with your ps3 and the receipt. Also look them directly in the eyes when you speak to them, this conveys confidence and dominance

Yeah if you can get it returned for store credit, you could at least buy a new cheaper PS3 and have money left for a few games or something.
