Now take in the fact that a 6990 can do 1GHz, with a performance increase of roughly 10%-15% using way less power, costing WAY less and on the STOCK COOLER. Guess what, 6990 still wins 8 times out of every 10, even in terms of performance, in almost everything besides Nvidia sponsored benchmarks and games.

Yeah, this 590 is still an epic fail.
blah blah blah.

You said the card wouldn't go beyond 800 MHZ, and had no overclocking room, and as you can see, they hit 895 MHZ.

Quit talking about things you know nothing about, and passing them off as fact. You've admitted you're not in the market to buy one of these cards, so quit spreading your negativity.

How's my logic invalid?

He sure is informed on his speculations, as I showed a screenshot of the card clocked at 895!

Here it is again in case you missed it.

If you bothered to read the post properly instead of flaming me, you'd realise I never presented it as fact, I said I personally doubted the average buyer of this card getting anything above that, and I still do, even with a 1000W or higher PSU: ASUS have a history of sending out hand picked GPUs to reviewers, and they almost never live up to the hype to actual consumers in my experience. It was stated as an opinion, not a fact, learn the difference.

Quit throwing your fanboy tantrums over absolutely nothing. It could clock to 2GHz for all I care, it's still useless for future games running at anything above one 1080p monitor thanks to the lack of VRAM.

And show me how much power the thing was using at those stated clocks before you make any more mindless troll posts at me. I bet it was more than 2x 6990s, which still renders this card as a failure.

That's how much it uses at stock...

T'was a joke.

You actually read the article. You actually looked at the graphs, due to the fact you made an intelligent post on OCN, which by standard OCN posts is few and far between.

In any case, my apologies for the confusion, it was meant as a compliment

Yes, it is. Anyone buying this card should expect to run everything at the highest possible settings, including Anti-aliasing settings (at 8x/16x minimum). GTA IV at highest settings (at 1080p) can take around 1.2GB of VRAM already, and it's only a DirectX9 title. You're fooling yourself if you think 1.5GB is going to be anywhere near enough to max even some of this year's DX11 titles, I have DX9 games that eat almost all of my 1GB VRAM at 1440x900, let alone 1080p.

That's like saying the Asus MARS I should have played Crysis at max settings including max AA on high res just because its expensive.

Btw, 1.5GB is more then enough for my 2560x1440 res. Even if I did use 16x AA on some very demanding game the actual GPU itself is whats holding me back, not the VRAM. I'd rather have the 1.5 with less latency then 3GB
