Whatever you decide to do, get an SSD for the OS and a few games, you won’t be disappointed as the performance increase in terms of load times is just brilliant.

Alright, everything has been ordered

I kind of regret not getting the i7 bundle though. not because of the CPU, but because of the deluxe.

the i5 comes with the P8P67 pro, but the deluxe version has thigns I used alot when trouble shooting, like the debug LCD, and the onboard power/reset buttons

I know you've ordered everything, but could you get the i5 dlx bundle for +$30. I don't remember seeing that a few days ago on bb, but apparently it is there now. Not sure how they work with change orders and such. Either way, enjoy your new superclocker. Should be nice.

so I'm looking for suggestions.

honestly I've been an intel guy, so I'm looking at the new i7. well, if you guys think I can do better with an AMD, say so. I've been out of the loop for a very long time.

I mainly use my rig for gaming and a big fan of overclocking.
If you're using it for Gaming and Overclocking, AMD has a lot to offer in the lower price-ranges. However, since you're looking at the i7's you'll probably get a 2600K which is unlocked and will allow for overclocking.

If you were going to get an i3 or i5 2400, which have locked multipliers, I'd tell you to go AMD.

I'm not going to lie. I lol'd pretty hard when I read your title. You need permission from the "lady" to do what you love? Now I know the difference between gf and wife, but I plan to make my gf a wife later on in my life and never has she ever once told me that I needed to ask to do anything. I must be the only guy in the world who has all the advantage of having a woman and non of the disadvantages with it.

man.... this sucks. I see that they have a corsair F3 now as well...

I called yesterday and apparently they have to cancel the whole order, get on the phone with HSBC (the card company) and then re order everything

This is something I'll keep for like 5-6 years probably, so I think it's gonna be worth the extra few day wait...
