Still can't get display on TV

Thread Starter
Connecting via HDMI directly to the mobo with a AMD A8-3850. The TV is a Visio 42 inch. Sometimes I can get picture w/ no sound and sometimes nothing at all. Is the TV too big of an output? Downloaded all the new drivers/BIOs and still nothing. Getting really frustrated now. Any help is appreciated.

connect to display that will show a screen, lower resolution to lowest settings, reconnect to tv, raise resolutions incrimentaly till your screen goes out of range.... remember that res and lower it one notch from secondary monitor....

hope that helps

So, this is another rig and not the sig rig?

I need more information:
a.What is the TV model?
This one ? --->http://www.vizio.com/sv421xvt.html

b.What are the graphics card and motherboard? Preferably give me a link to the exact product.

c.What cable is being used and any adapter?

Yeah, tried that at first and did so again last night. On a regular 21" monitor I get all kinds of resolutions and I pick the lowest one, but on the TV I get the lowest default one. Looked up drivers/BIOs and i'm all up to date on everything.

A.) The tv is this: Vizio 42" Class 1080p LED-LCD HDTV( 2.0" ultra-slim) 120Hz, M421NV

B. I'm using the AMD APU with and integrated GPU. It's the AMD A8-3850 Llano 2.9GHz specifically with an integrated AMD Radeon HD 6550D.

C.) I'm using the HDMI output on the mobo, BIOSTAR TA75M+RCH. It works when I use a regular, smaller monitor and is iffy when I plug it straight to the TV. I'll wait around 5 minutes and it'll turn on or sometimes will show right up when I turn it on. No adapters are being used.

Thank you all for assisting me.

So, you are using a HDMI cable to connect the mobo's HDMI output to a HDMI input of the TV.

1) Is this cable the same cable that is known to work? Do you use this same cable to connect to the smaller 21'' monitor's HDMI input and it works?

2) Try all four HDMI inputs of the TV

3) Make sure turning on the TV first before booting up the PC (so that the PC has a higher chance to properly detect the turned on TV.

4) When you connect to, say, HDMI 1 input of the TV, rename the input from 'HDMI 1' to 'HDMI 1 – PC' or 'HDMI 1 – Computer' or 'PC'...etc

5) Your TV manual (page 28 - see pic 1 below) suggests to use 1/8'' mini plug stereo connector for audio signal, even when you are using HDMI.
This is a little odd because HDMI is supposed to carry audio as well. But as the manual does specify this, I would suggest you to try it. It should be plugged into 'AUDIO' circled red in the pic 2 below.

6) With current technology, PC is still having a hard time to have full compatibility with HDTV, especially via HDMI.
So, try to get away from HDMI as much as possible. Try to use a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect a DVI output of the mobo to a HDMI input of the TV.
And, it is for this reason why the HDTV provides a RGB input for PC connection, to allow maximum compatibility. You will have to use this method as the last resort.

Any updates? I am thinking about getting the BIOSTAR TA75M FM1 AMD A75 and I will be hooking it up to a Vizio LED LCD and would like to avoid any of these issues or I might have to go with another mATX board.
