Man I can't wait. Ordered all the rest of the parts this morning. Swiftech MCW82 for my 6950 some more fittings and the 360 rad. 10' of hose is what I originally ordered. Which sounds like plenty but I will definitely double check all my cuts since this is my first time.

Yay mcw82 great little block. Are you going use tiny separate passive heatsinks, an unisink, or a hybrid solution (take off the vapor chamber leave everything else)?

Lol trust me I know, this was supposed to be a cpu only loop and before it even showed up I figured out a way to include my gpu

Yay a whole other side to my pc hardware addiction

Um lol good question. Actually right at the moment I was going to go passive. Here's my card what do you think? Is there anywhere I should put more sinks?

What type of heatsink is that on the vregs? It doesn't look like it'll be that good at cooling since it is devoid of fins. I am using a unisink and vouch for it's cooling abilities but I have seen hybrid solutions work well for ati cards.

EDIT: it seems as though that thread got deleted :/ but it wouldn't work in your case anyway since your msi card is not a blower-type. I guess you are suck with using passive mini heatsinks

Yah please do, the card is non reference so I'm not sure if one of those big heat sinks will work on it.

My card is the HIS IceQ. I think this is the heat sink for me.
http://www.swiftech.com/hd6900-hs.aspx

It lists the X version which is more overclocked but I assume has the same pcb. It also lists the 1 gb version so I assume it will work for my card. I will go passive for the time being and see how it goes.

Another user on this site had this setup and said his temps were ok with only the gpu block.

Unfortunately, that is a hard thing to judge. The 580 hs fit perfectly on my 570 so there is a good chance that it'll fit. The only real way to tell is you remove the shroud on your gpu and see how it compares to the card shown in the installation manual.

Also, you'll need some airflow over the card, no matter which way you decide to cool it. The Swiftech hs has mounts for a 60mm fan (in your case, 80 in mine) and that cools great. In my experience the 80mm Evercool fan I have running at it's minimum (<1000rpm somewhere) is dead silent and cools the vregs/mem better than the stock blower hs, nevermind the gpu core

That's interesting. The installation manual on Swiftech's website for the 6900 hs shows the vregs on the left side of the gpu core. That MSI card must not be reference.

I was hoping originally to go hybrid cooling with my card as well, but the mcw82's wide base would not fit through the opening for the vapor chamber above the gpu core. Basically the mcw82 was levitating a couple millimeters above the core :/
