They ARE basically the same. however, one supports physx ( great in batman Arkham asylum, whole new game when enabled. )

they trade blows but stay within a couple percent of eachother.

wouldnt bother with either though, try hard for a 6850, or a GTX460. The gpu power alone is well worth it.

I wouldn't run physx on the 450 at all as you drop the FPS to much. and yes the 6850 and 460 would be much better to get.

I would vote a 6850 if it can be had for ~$150. Plus some manufacturers have rebates on right now.

EDIT: Out of curiosity has ANYONE tried 2 x 6770s in Crossfire to see how they stack up?

I get like 5 fps less in batman. lol. That's not much at 100fps~ running advanced physx levels.

I got a slightly larger hit in Mafia II though, about 20FPS less ( with ) out of 80 ( without physx ) at 1600x1200.

The card is no real wimp unless you want AA, which is why i recommend the 460 over it.

i recommend you try cards before commenting on them. I stick with the 450 though because most of my gaming is 1152x864 and under for 144hz and the card CAN do it.

as far as Source engine goes. my fps is COMPLETELY dependent on my CPU OC. unless i turn on 8x+ AA levels at high resolutions. My CRT's cant do high enough resolution to really effect performance in the source engine.

Edit: I TF2 at 800x600 at 144hz anyways.

edit 2: see sig.

what are the cards thAT are 100$ and under
post #48 of 62
I hit up Newegg and got this list and this list (>$100)

From it I'd recommend cards off the >$100 list to be honest.

EDIT: I recommend PowerColor or Asus as they go by serial number only for proof of warranty.

If you want to be gaming for a while on the same card you don't want to go less than 100 in the UK most cards under £100 new are low end last gen gaming cards or non gaming cards. I myself see the under 100 cards as HTPC cards or cards just to get multi monitor support.
