if you're idling at 60c it's gonna run hella hot.

Get used to it, Fermis are hot cards. My 570 idles at 58c when set to stock fan speeds.

OP: Use afterburner to set custom fan profiles, as high as you can, but keep noise within limit.

Edit: Also add system specs so we know what else you're running with this. Here: http://www.overclock.net/specs.php?do=addsystem

I wonder just what differs the temp between reference cards
some people with reference card find their card idle below 40 degrees, this is unfair :\\

if you got the card used, you can try to swap out the TIM. but you gonna be running in the 80-90 range and that is very high even for a ref. card

it depends on monitor resolution, too. i went from one 1680x1050 to dual 1080p and i saw a 10c idle difference in temp. Dont stress over your idle temps. Just set a custom fan profile!

How is your ambient temperature? That can make a world of a difference on your temps.

Do you have more than one monitor plugged into your card?

Gets up to a sweltering 44c in Bad Company 2.

I still need to try and squeeze more power out of it.

I run at like 65 max under load with a small OC to 855 MHz. But I'm also not on a reference card.
