How come after getting the TIM replaced it would still be running that hot? what TIM do you recommend? and wow you got the extreme 580 *drools* how's the temp?

it's just a 24" 1080P
would like to know your customized settings

@all you guys are crazy for owning the 580 extreme, i should have gone with it too
my case is a haf x with ambient temp like 43*c

AMD cards idle 10C or so above with min fan, Fermi(not x50/x60 though) idle about 15c-20c warmer. As long as load isn't above 95c it should be fine.

dude there is no way i would let my card run at 95c for any length of time.

that resolution shouldn't affect temps. download 3dmark or unigine and see what temp you get under load. I would say if you are under 75 you're good to go. you will never get to temps like the TFIII or DCUII cards.

wha is ambient temps outside of your case? it can't be 43c is it?

This is not the case. GF110 is only spec'd by Nvidia to be safe up to 97C, therefore 95C is far too close to that. Haven't I mentioned this to you before?

Not to me. Okay, so 90C is the top.
