Yeah, I don't even notice the difference. I get 60 FPS with ULTRA + DX11 and 60 FPS with DX9 so it doesn't bother me at all. The only thing that's missing for me is a way to force AA. I see a lot of jaggies @ 1920x1200.

...the coding is crap. Plain and simple.

It would be like requiring people to have a 4GHz+ quad-core to play Minecraft just because there's it is generating threads of infinite loop somewhere in the code. It makes no gameplay or visual difference but is eatting up noticable amounts of resources.

Crysis 2 is more of a satisfaction thing. Once i finished the game in DX9 i never played it again and i was getting 50-60fps. Months latter DX11 came so i tried it and was getting as low as 10s and other times 20-30fps. I am not really worried because there is no reason for me to play the game any more but for those that do it is.

Like I said, I love the game and the story line, think it looks incredible, and have no performance issues with it whatsoever. I could care less how its coded or if it implements tessellation in a way that hurts AMD cards. Its a great game and that's all I care about.

Everyone keeps saying this, but people need to understand that there are reasons behind things like this. You can't just make custom shaped water planes that fit every shoreline in the game, instead you create a water plane and allow it to scale to whatever size you need and have the plane detect the shoreline to do things like foam and waves. The water that you can never see is likely culled out via occlusion culling of some form, so the impact to the game is negligible. So the water in areas you cannot see them really have almost no impact. Couldn't. And it hurts ALL cards, not just AMD cards. All cards have an overhead when implementing tessellation in crysis 2--the fact that the engine is requiring tessellated surfaces that don't even appear to the user is artarded. That's the problem. Not that it runs okay on "this" card but not "that" card. AMD cards play crysis 2 just fine

Lol if you have 1K worth of GPUs you better not have performance issues. Unlike Crysis 1 which was just hard on the GPU and there is nothing you could do about it here they just abused tessellation. Its also funny that when i am playing DX11 Crysis 2 my GPU is 100% load 55C, Crysis 1 is 100% load 67C and i wonder why. My beast HD 6970 is sleeping and does not want to play a crappy coded game. jk being sarcastic.
