Glad you asked, because I have a question for other owners.

Does air come out around the power lead?

When I received the first one, I powered it on and noticed air coming out around the grommet where the power lead goes into the unit - other than that it worked great.

So I immediately powered it off and contacted the seller. I was told to cut the cord and they will send a new one.

When I received the second one, there was not as much air escaping, but still some. So I put it down to being 'normal', anyone else notice this?

I believe it is a safety device -- albeit a cheap one -- to keep the fan from burning out when the outlet is blocked.

IOW -- mine does it too, and I've read other users commenting on it. It's not just that the cap's too big. It's designed that way.

DaClownie has the right of it. My brother lives in the US and brought it over for me. He may have bought it but I payed for it so it's definitely mine. smile.gif

And mine also has a bit of air escaping from where the power cable goes into the unit. This hardly surprises me considering the amount it moves and I'm not worried about it at all.

Hey all,

So ... I just bought one of these and tried to use it.. but it won't plug into the wall. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif It actually doesn't have a standard plug that will go into the wall. Does anyone else have this problem? Am I completely missing something here...? I live in Canada if you were wondering. The plug is two round thing that looks a lot more like a french plug..:

http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=french+plug&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rlz=1C1ASUT_enCA443CA443&biw=1241&bih=619&tbm=isch&tbnid=sk_tka9G8wUCnM:&imgrefurl=http://francetravelplanner.com/details/electric.html&docid=9mxtrHt2iHhpzM&imgurl=http://francetravelplanner.com/assets/details/plug_fr2129.jpg&w=258&h=215&ei=9jI7T62aOafC2wX02NmZCg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=289&vpy=293&dur=5541&hovh=172&hovw=206&tx=148&ty=127&sig=117470739496424848386&page=1&tbnh=125&tbnw=150&start=0&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0

Did NCIX sell me a product for the french..? -_-

What kind of plug do you use? Sounds like NCIX mixed up and sent you the wrong version.

But it's nice to know Metro Vac makes these for all kinds of sockets.

The same as the American plugs... I don't want to have to go out and get an adapter for this single item -_-
