Stuck in single SLI

Thread Starter
My rig is based off the P67 Intel chipset motherboard which means I can't do SLI. I also have a 560ti standard clocks..and am relatively new to the overclocking business. Is there an optimal way I can squeeze as much performance out of my single card as possible before upgrading for something like BF3 max? And if I need to upgrade in the future, should I wait for a 600 series card?

You can overclock your card quite a bit from what I understand the GTX560 ti can OC really well. You can use a utility called MSI Afterburner to overclock your graphics card. When overclocking a graphics card you want to concentrate on bumping up the core clock more then anything. Do it a little bit at a time to make sure it is stable. You can bump it up 50Mhz at a time and test the OC stability using OCCT or any demanding games like crysis or a benchmark like 3DMARK11.

Also IF you want to step up to the P8P67 PRO you CAN do 2way sli on that P67 mobo.

P8P67 LE isn't licensed for SLI AFAIK.

All P67 boards can do SLI if they have two PCIe slots. It's not the individual boards that are licensed, it's the chipsets.

Also, the P8P67 LE can do SLI unless it's damaged in some way.

EDIT: Apparently I'm wrong. That's really weird.

Thanks for the responses
I already have a program called EVGA Precision, can I use that for overclocking instead of afterburner? Also, after bumping up the speeds how do I know if it is stable? If I can run for 20 mins without BSoD?

It's really stupid but from what I've heard I can't do SLI on this motherboard >_< How hard/would it be worth it to upgrade that in the future?

u guys lol... goo look at the P8P67 LE. it has 1 PCI X16 slot and the other is a PCI X16 slot wired for X4. so SLI will not work, you need the P8P67 PRO or the EVO to run 2 way SLI because the PCIX slot 1 iswired for X16 and the 2nd one is wired for X8. So in SLI they will run in x8/x8 which will work fine and dandy for SLI

If you are set on SLI, I would get the P8P67 Pro, I have it and I know 100% it can do SLI.

As for the LE, I think it was disabled because of x16/x4 PCI-E lanes. Though I could be wrong.

even a GTX580 in a x16 slot wired for x4 will only lose a very small amoun of speed
