can i use macros to assign side-scrolling?

guys, i'm about to buy the steelseries ikari.. however, i need a side scrolling function to be used in image viewer or web browsing.. since the scroll wheel of ikari cannot be tilted like logitech mice, can i use the macro function to assign side scrolling?? thanks

It can be done with X-Mouse Button Control quite easily.

1. In Layer 2, change Wheel Up and Down to Scroll Left and Right
2. In Settings, enable Modifier Keys and set "Activate Layer 2" to your desired key (ctrl for example, but something less used might be better such as the Windows key)
3. In General, untick "Show layer switch balloon notifications"

With the above, ctrl + mousewheel will now scroll left and right.

No, if you're going to get the optical. The Ikari laser will have support for that though (read here). The optical version the only thing you can change in the driver is the dpi for each switch.
