[ARS]Best Buy tells HP to take back its TouchPads - Page 2

I really thought this would have sold better. HP did plenty of marketing for it and it's more user friendly than Android tablets imo. But it's WebOS...no one really has a WebOS phone so buying a WebOS tablet doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I was going to buy one for S&G's when they had that $100 off coupon thing going on but Staples was all sold out. I'm sure I'll be able to find one ultra-cheap at this rate. $200 and I'm sold.

I'd be surprised if BestBuy successfully returned the stock.

This is essentially someone buying a product then returning it because it didn't do what they thought it would.

Not surprising to me, half the things HP makes are overpriced and loaded with crapware.

The HP Tablet doesnt have android on it? Why would anyone want a tablet without android. It's the only viable alternative to iOS untill windows 8 comes out.

Well, judging from this article, it doesn't seem they're having much success playing the game, even if they are in it.

It's quite common in the retail world. Most of the time it's a contractual obligation of the manufacturer to provide some form of price protection or stock rotation to the retailer.

Everybody and their grandma is making a silly tablet these days. Honestly when I think of a tablet the only few products that come to mind are the iPad, the Galaxy Tab and the Motorola Xoom.

All this shows, don't be stupid and just use Android for tablets like everyone else (Lenovo, Asus, Acer). Well, Lenovo's first tablets ran a proprietary OS(last year, only sold in China), they learned quick and switched to Android. Too bad HP thinks WebOS stands a chance. There's a reason Palm was close to bankruptcy, and if I had to guess HP held on to Palm's "engineers" and marketing department .
