[QUOTE=cayennemist;14619463]Hp should have went with the Slate with Win 7 that they originaly planed on...
I saw this coming.
This would have been a WIN

The Slate does exist and is for sale. It is marketed towards the commercial market.

Thanks for the information. I did not know this!

I had gone to an HP training event focused on the new AMD processors and the TouchPad (mainly because there were chances to win free stuff, and they were doing an early screening of Transformers 3 ). Even HP do not know how to market their product; they had videos of every-day people that probably would have a hard time working the calendar on a smartphone, recommending the advanced features of the new webOS. I'm glad they didn't push them into commercials or anything...

yeah its a fail. the fact that WebOS doesnt have dev support and isnt nearly as supported as iOS or Android is the main reason i dont want it. it is very smooth, but i cant deal with some tablet with an unsupported OS that i cant root.
and its WAAAY overpriced! that thing should be going for 300 or 400 not friggin 500!
fail product is fail.

nobody ever buys those at staples. i always recommend the xoom anyway just because there is virtually no support for the HP tablet, the xoom has portfolios, bluetooth keyboards, car chargers, among other things so it's easier to sell that stuff along with it.

The size/weight and less-used tab OS is what deterred me the most from getting one. Well, the price too... But I hadn't expected them to do THIS poorly. It felt like a solid machine. Gotta do special stuff to rise to the top though. This was always just "meh" to me.
