I guess I would go back to my question: How do I apply the update? Its a .rom file...and I have absolutely no clue how to apply that.

I havent used everest but I'm 99% sure that its reporting the PACKAGE temperature and not the core temps, would make sense since only 1 temp is reported. Package or case temp is lower than the cores under pretty much always. Be sure you have RealTemp 3.67+ and use that to monitor temps. Also see: http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/docs.php for some explanation about the error in the thermal sensors.

The temps are fine. With the same cooler, at 4.5ghz 1.30v my temps in Prime peaked at 65C (I think so dont quote me on it) - before I did any lapping that is. Keep in mind curing times and that some manufacturers do not specify a cure period but there is one (true for any AS5 knock off ex Antec Formula 5).

My best TIM application method was using lines of 1mm width down each heatpipe, and putting a small amount at the very center of the heatsink base.

Thats exactly how I did it. Through trial and error, that got the most even, centered coat for me.

Seems to work, too - at 4.0ghz and stock vcore, I was at 58-60C tops during 8 hours of P95.
