It's in your BIOS. From what the manual says:

A. Enter BIOS SETUP UTILITY> Advanced screen> SATA Configuration.
B. Set the option “SATA Mode” to [AHCI].

Very important because you don't wanna get the IDE speed for your
SATA drives.

If he installs Windows in IDE mode a certain registry setting has not been made and if he sets it to AHCI and boots Windows will crash. You need to make that registry change then reboot enter BIOS and set it to AHCI. I'd tell you what to change but you'll learn a lot more using google and researching it yourself.

PS It doesn't require a windows reinstall LOL

Wait, it doesn't do this by default? Mine is in ide mode and if I change it i get a bsod. What do I do to change it?

*edit*

Nm, Didn't see the post from Hiropro, I'll give that a shot.

*edit2*
Well I was actually going to rep hiropro for posting a helpful comment, but since for some reason he decided he didn't want to be helpful any more, I will post what needs to be done to enable AHCI if you haven't already.

Exit all Windows-based programs.
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Msahci

In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.

After this restart, go into bios and enable AHCI, and windows will install the drivers. I just did it and it worked fine.
