Physical CD's install game data all up and down your program files, I like having the 200GB+ of game data all under 1 folder for when I decide it is time to do a purge of the unwanted files left over from programs that were previously uninstalled. Keeps my program files folder from looking like a birds nest.
lol, how did some people ever learn to place all their games on a different partition?

I don't know about in the U.S but games on Steam in the U.K are far more expensive than normal retail outlets.

I dont think their going to do that, that full page add was just to let steam owners know the game is available for preorder, they do that for every game that is ready to be preordered on steam, they even did it for Red Orchestra 2 and Skyrim, MW3 is not even showing up in the main ads.

I'd prefer to not see any of these services achieve a monopoly or near monopoly on DD, and Steam is dangerously close to that.

If Valve and EA are going to mandate 3rd party clients that I am unwilling to use, it's best if they are in conflict/competition.

If Steam was a provider for console games I could see that being liable. But it's not!!!! EA is in no way worried about MW3 sales chipping away at their PC sales.

Ive said it before and ill say it again. I don't support origin the client because it is fueled by EA, if every publisher made their service then were splitting ties to companies that just want to make the quick bucks. I don't blame them for trying, business is business but I want the best service that can provide more for me, and for the time being its still currently steam.

Is it bad enough that we get unoptimized games from the publishers, now I have to use their client too? No thanks

I can completely understand that someone doesn't want to use a publisher's client, but then why do you support Steam ? Valve games are Steam exclusives, yet nobody seem to think this is a problem, and EA games won't be exclusive on Origin (maybe SWTOR apparently but I'm unsure), they will appear on all the others digital stores, the only reason BF3 won't be on Steam is because Valve want EA to sell their DLC on Steam, no other online stores requires that but somehow that makes EA the bad guys (not saying they aren't bad guys, just not on this case) and Steam the defender of the people ?

While this is true, I'm not limited to only valve titles with the steam client, I have plenty of indie titles that I would've normally never heard of; and very much enjoy. I have my free choice to choose what title I wish to play regardless of publisher, save for EA

My point being, EA is doing everything in their power to push the titles they own, while on the other hand valve is doing everything in their power to push ALL titles.
