Steam has been good to me and given me great deals ... and i can keep everything in one place and still enjoy joining games with my friends and not having to try and get the IP's or anything ... so you can take orgin back to the orgine and scrap it ... u were beat to the martket by Steam and they do MUCH much better job as it ... and who ever said it is slow ... well cause you have a PII laptop nub .... go spend 200$ on a Faster net book ...

The thing I like about Origin is that I don't have to have it running to play my games. I don't know if that will be the case with BF3, though. That would be great if I just had to activate the game through Origin, then never have to open the program again like with my BF2 game that I have on it.

Useless for someone with no friends on Origin. (You).

Quite useful for someone who has managed to populate their Origin friends list and can/will use the Origin chat overlay to chat with friends.

If neither you or any of your friends (that you actually play with and not the hundreds of "facebook" friends you may or may not have) cant be bothered to add each other on Origin, then expect Origins features to be useless to you.

I on the other hand, shall be making full use of it.

EA Games are available in places other than Origin.

EA gave me a 25% off coupon to use in their store. Inferior store or not, they sold me BF3 for 45 bucks and I definitely would not pass that up to give Steam or anyone else $60 for the same game. Competition is good and we as customers will benefit.

BTW for anyone wondering I got my coupon for joining the EA Gun Club. It showed up in my inbox about 2 weeks after signing up. And while the code in my email did not work a quick chat with EA support got me a working code.

Hey I'm not knocking EA or origin, I'm just pointing out that beyond SIMS, Crysis, Battlefield and a few other games Origin cannot compete with Steam. You think Steam has strict policy about how they represent other publishers games I would probably shutter at EA's in comparison if they decided to attempt that route.
I pre-ordered on Origin without a fuss, I even got Dead Space 2 for free for it 0 complaints here. I already had DA2 and ME2 on it anyway.

It would be great if they could work their crap out. I'm too used to running with Steam for all my gaming needs. Be nice to get Crysis 2, DA2 from steam so I don't have to have them in my WIshList tormenting me.
