I need another desktop.. $350-450

Thread Starter
My family needs a new computer, Theyre looking to spend $350-$450 , $450 max.. Im lookin for the best in that range. It doesnt need a monitor, mouse or keyboard. It will be used for internet most of the time, probably youtube, and flash games etc.. If you guys could help me find something that is the best in that price range it would be appreciated!

Thanks!

The ONLY good thing about those prebuilts is that it comes with Windows 7. Other than that, absolutely no reason to buy something like that. Clueless do you already have Win 7 x64 ready to go? If not, Always a huge slash in the budget builds...

You can get a $455:

CPU: AMD Phenom™II X4 925 Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology [-34]
HDD: 500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Hard Drive)
MEMORY: 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Module (Corsair or Major Brand)
MOTHERBOARD: Asus M4N68T-M V2 AM3 DDR3 NVIDIA Geforce 7025/nForce 630a Chipset mATX w/ Onboard Graphics and Core Unlocker, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, USB 2.0, SATA-II RAID, 1 Gen2 PCIe, 1 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI
SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO
VIDEO: ATI Radeon HD 5450 512MB DDR2 16X PCIe Video Card [-13] (Major Brand Powered by ATI)
Win7 64bit($83)

At CyberPowerPC.com but its $75 for shipping unfortunately.

That seemed to be the lowest I could get from a pre-built manufacturer but it does come with a 3 year warranty which on newegg a 2 year warranty (their max) will cost you $70.

If you can get Win7 or another OS from somewhere else you are under your budget as taking that out would be $455+$75(shipping)-$83(OS)= $447

Don't buy either of these. The first one comes with outdated LGA775 hardware. The other one uses 6GB of RAM in single channel. Among other screw ups with the parts choices.

At $300-$450 you can custom built them either a socket FM1 or AM3+ build with so much better value. Since you don't need a monitor, mouse or keyboard, the budget is really flexible.

Not bad. Absolutely hate the tower plus psu option though

I'd put an f3 in there for around 50$. A nice cx430 for ~20 amir and an nzxt beta for ~40$.
