I'll do it... Buy headphones and a clipon mic, srsly.

Edit to be more helpful/ less dick-ish: If your looking for good surround sound for gaming, you owe it to yourself to try out some AD700 headphones used with a good sound card. It is only stereo but the width of sound(sound stage) and clarity afforded by these phones could be a better fit for you. And they are likely to be cheaper then the razer phones as well. Just a thought

Why do people buy these headsets? Is it a USB one? Can't tell from the product page. Oh look, some specs for the 7.1's:
Quote:
Frequency Response: 50 – 16,000 Hz
Sensitivity @1kHz: -36 dB ± 2dB
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 50 dB
Pick-up Pattern: Unidirectional

Let's compare to AD700's:

Just bought the G930 for the PC and the Turtle Beach PX5's for my Xbox and PS3. I considered the Razer pair, but having had the G35's already, and been very happy with them, I'm gonna stick with Logitech this round...plus I am getting tired of dealing with Wires, my current set-up is finally fully wireless!

Apples to oranges...you're comparing stereo headphones with no mic to a 7.1 pair of headphones with a mic. They are geared for two different things...you're paying for the look, the built in mic, and the surround sound effect for gaming. Not for pure audio quality. As alien as that sounds to some people on this forum, sometimes people arent necessarily looking for as much audio quality as their money can buy, some people value a balance of convenience or style as well.

the surround sound in those phones is quite gimmicky. A proper set of stereo headphones can deliver a better surround effect than any psudo-surround sound phones. they are cheaper, sound better, and perform better. Add a mic of your choice and its a no brainer.

It has powered volume control.

Of course it's USB. Perfect to buy a $200 sound card with!

Two drivers delivers better surround sound than 10 drivers?

Does not compute...

Don't get me wrong, not that I am rooting for these headphones, I think headphones like these with multiple drivers are more of a gimmick than anything, and I prefer a virtual effect to maintain power, but I don't see how a stereo set-up does better surround than actual surround.

if you want to stay with logitech, ditch both of yours and get the F540, it will work on PC, 360, and PS3... just saying. I use mine on all 3, convenience being the key attribute.
