Two Gpu, NO sli 3 monitors

Thread Starter
Is it possible?
I've 8800gt but no sli because my board doesn't support sli. My problem is nvidia control panel detect only the two monitor on the first gpu, monitor in the second gpu aren't list in the nvidia control panel, but physix saw 2 gpu (8800gt (1) and 8800gt (2)).

Thanks, xk3tchuPx

I'm pretty sure you can't use two graphics cards separately, unless you're using one for PhysX, in which case you can't plug a monitor into the PhysX card. The only way to run three monitors off of two non-PhysX cards is if they're running in SLI.

Help out the OP then...

I would, but I have no clue about using 3 monitors on 2 non-SLI'd cards.

Doesn't the GTX580 support 3 monitors by itself anyways? 2x DVI 1x Displayport? Or can you only use two?

I've never messed around with three monitors, only two. But if you know how, then share with the OP tongue.gif

To run Nvidia Surround:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dv-system-requirements-surround-technology.html

so you need sli,

To run an "accessory display", you should be able to plug two monitors into one, and the 3rd to the 2nd card.

you can totally use 3 monitors with 2 different cards. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Go to Setup Multiple Displays and make sure all 3 monitors are checked. After that you should be able to use your 3rd display.

Hey can you post a screen shot of your NVIDIA control panel? My guess it is actually there but either the graphics card or the monitor is currently. Try going to the set up multiple displays tab and click the check box next to your monitor. If that doesnt work right click on the windows desktop, click screen resolution, detect, click on a black box, then select extend desktop to this monitor.

I'm running three monitors (3- 1920x1080 23") using two 560ti's. My motherboard supports SLI, but I have the option of not running in 'sli' mode to run the three monitors. When I am in sli I only have the option of running two monitors as that's all my cards can support (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Did you have the three monitors plugged in when you tried to get them all working? If you don't have anything plugged in to the second video card you may not get the option to activate it for video. Also, the display port on the back is actually linked to DVI port next to it, so you can't just plug all three monitors into one card (unless you want to display the same thing on two of the monitors).
