Getting the Corsair H100 working with an Antec 1200 Case

Well my shiny new H100 arrived yesterday, and like an excited kid I pulled my system out, had it all dismantled, got the back-plates in and the mounting bolts set, about to install the rad, when I ran into a snag. Seems that I didn't take into account the fact that the two rear fans were snug against the card slot section, leaving ZERO room for the rad's heads.

I opted, not to return said cooler and get a smaller one, but instead to make this thing work dammit!

Whipped out my dremel and my nibbler and set to work making a slot for the water tubes, realized that even with the hole there, I'd still have to have the rad on a standoff because of the angle of the tubes.

Here was the result:
8x Xbox 360 screws holding the rad 50mm away from the rear of the case, a couple hollowed out fan ducts to stabilize the bolts, and rear mounted fans!

I won't lie, but that is ingenious.

eh, i'd be worried having it hanging out there. try seeing what you can do to move it in farther. or custom mount it on the top?

He could make a vertical "ladder" support to hold the entire radiator up, so it doesn't sag like it does in the second photo.

This would be more beneficial if the desktop does not move every much.

That's my plan for future, but the fans i had available were getting noisy from old bearings I think.

@monocog & Biggs: Yep, that's why I added those fan housings. When I get another set of 120mm's they'll go in that space as well and give it more stability. Just having the one set made it pretty solid to begin with. as to mounting on the top, I thought about it for a bit, but it wouldn't have fit in the spot I keep the computer. Also it doesn't move much (the whole desktop)

Next step is gonna be adding some rubber to the inside of the hole I cut to keep wear down

Nice work, I would have put it in the 5.25 if it were me like, I hate the look of rads.

Now do your cable management boy!

lol part of the reason I didnt do it like that is the same reason I have crappy cable management in this system. I'm running 6 harddrives and a bunch of extra devices!

believe me this thing coulda turned out a lot worse xD

Well I moved the fan enclosures to the front, up against the case, and attached the two fans I had on my ProlimaHalems right behind those in front of the rad, so now have 4 fans in push/pull, and running all off the pump

extra fans made it very solid on the back
