I think I'll hold off on updating until the middle of next week, when Firefox 27.0a1 should be available.

At the rate these updates are going, we'll have Firefox 312.0a1 by the end of the year.

After reading through the number of either irreverent (or down-right incorrect) "helpful" responses intended to getting the preview builds of Firefox running alongside your default "stable" builds, I have to admit I'm left shaking my head. It seems many if the basics which have existed since the earliest releases (I've been using Firefox since version 0.5) have been forgotten outside the development community. Now I've not had the time to be involved in the development community myself since FF 3.0 dropped in '08, but I've still been able to write up a guide here that should cover all the bases.

The most important thing to take away is the you DO NOT need to worry about installing/running test builds from different locations (ie, USB drives), but you DO NEED to be running off separate profiles

I only just started beta testing FF 7.

I started using it yesterday on my iMac at work. It's pretty snappy.

7 Just left alpha and headed into beta, 8 is in alpha (I think Alpha 2) and 9 just entered alpha 1.
