But 4 jets? If this list is true, then its just what I thought all along, they only added Jets and don't care to much about them. Alpha was sexy, but this is a let down.
Not even a blackhawk? But instead we get a Huey?
Can we stop using the LAV? Its getting old. Use a bradley or Stryker.
The so we get 1 attack chopper, and 2 transports. Hmm.
Disappointed as all get out, but not raging. But DICE, thnx for not caring about vehicles once again. Get a military adviser you n00bs
Two multirole fighters, and two attack fighters. The SU-39 is the direct counter-part to the A-10.
The vehicle list here is actually very good, small~ but good. The F-18 is still the Navy's go to fighter platform, and the Marines are tightly interwoven with the Navy on expeditionary missions.
The Blackhawk is cool, but I think Dice sat and decided what was 'fun' about it for the pilot, and no offense in Bad Company 2 the Black Hawk was unfairly pitted against the Hind as a transport chopper without anything for the pilot to actually use to shoot with it.
In this platform, the Venom will have the capacity to have side gunners, carry troops AND have a pilot with weapons capability. The Blackhawk has variants with offensive capability too, but they decided on using a faster, lighter and generally higher armed platform.
Seriously, have any of you actually seen the UH-1Y Venom at work? I understand the Black Hawk is a fan favorite and has seen a lot of use in film and gaming, but the UH-1Y Venom is a relatively new refit of an old platform and hasn't really seen a lot of gametime. Let's give it a shot. I think from a FUN perspective, it'll be a LOT better to fly gamewise.
The only anomaly from this list really is the decision to use a AH-1Z Super Cobra instead of the Bell AH-1Z Viper. These guys did the right thing and used the Tier-2 version of the Huey, by going to the UH-1Y Venom... but~ they decided to go to the Tier-1 SuperCobra when they had the Viper available!?
What's even crazier about this... BATTLEFIELD 2 USED THE VIPER! Even though it wasn't even in service, Battlefield 2 had the Tier 2 Version of the SuperCobra... yet BF3 is taking a step BACK and is using the old 1986 fielded SuperCobra.
Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome chopper~ but if you're making a modern warfare game, why are they actually going backward with this one chopper when even BF2 had the newer variant (The AH-1Z Viper was introduced to service as late as 2010!).
It's just a little confusing. Everything else actually makes a lot of sense (Lack of a Bradley fighting vehicle is kind of~ eeeehhhh to me, but hey~ I can deal with the LAV-25 and its kickass speed.)
