Intel's upcoming 2012 processor

So intel is going to do it again and make another insane line of processors but since intel's new gen processor is going to be a 22NM with Sandy Bridge CPU-E Ivy Bridge. Does this mean we have to buy an all new motherboard? Or is their a motherboard out there that supports it right now?

God this thing is going to be amazing...I can't wait to overclock it!

Nope, intel wants to squeeze you for everything youve got, you need a new board, and maybe a cooler, or at least new brackets.

Yeah I'm going to have to do the same or just get a super cheap mother board for now and when the new stuff comes out sell it and upgrade.

The 2012 Ivy Bridge socket will be the 1155.. which is the current socket of the SB. if you have a 1155 socket then you'll be set for the Ivy Bridge release. im sure that they'll push new technology "claims" through boards though... but simple answer is no you dont need a new motherboard

EDIT: SB-E and Ivy Bridge are not the same thing. SB-E will be here Q4 of this year with the socket LGA 2011 while ivy bridge is 2012 with socket LGA 1155. The only thing stopping the current boards from working is which chipsets Intel will allow the CPU to work with. it will work with series 7 chipsets along with select series 6 chipsets (i.e. p67,h67, etc...) but there has been no confirmation on which series 6 chipsets it will work with

2011 socket is coming out in 2012, it was delayed till q1/2 2012.
