OK to run 1.35v memory at 1.5v?

Thread Starter
Just picked up a new mb/cpu today thinking I already had DDR3 memory to use in it. Board is Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H and memory is Adata 1333g 1.25 - 1.35v. Will this fry this memory?

No you will be fine. I run some 1.5v ram at 1.61v because it's the lowest setting my bios will allow and have never had troubles.

Most (if not all) DDR3 RAM can take up to 1.65v safely.

The 2 AMD boards i have had with my GSKILL Eco's do not like to run at 1.35v, but runs it fine at 1.43v. But it doesnt matter to me because I run my 1.35v RAM at 1.58v and at good timings.

I guess I'll give it a go with what I have then. Although this is tempting (8GB for $39).

It's perfectly fine thumb.gif I run my 1.6V Ram @ 1.7, and on some benchmarking occasions, it's at 1.8V+ smile.gif

I've run my G.Skill ECOs at 1.6V (vs rated 1.35V) for over a year.
You're fine.
