CM Hyper 212 + High temps

Thread Starter
I have no clue what could be the problem. I have taken it off, cleaned it, and reseated 3 times now. It keeps giving me the same temps over and over. Stock is 50C idle in BIOS and OC'd to 4.5 its around 53-54C idle. Any clue what could be the problem? x.x There is even a little bit of my blood on it now(By the way, those fin things are shaaaarp) and it still refuses to cool :< Using AS-5.

Don't use the BIOS readings as an idle temp guide. Get in the OS and use Realtemp or Speedfan to get readings.

if real temp says your last core is at 47 then there is something wrong, but let it run a minute or two and then read what it says, are you sure you're not reading the max temps?

Still says the same thing. I started a Prime 95, and so far the values stay around:

49 45 52 66

They spiked up a few degrees every once in a while, but nothing over 69 on that last core (Everything else has spiked around 4-7 degrees higher)

Im reading the top set of temps. The lower ones says something about TJ max,

Got a BSOD. After some google searches looks like that might be fixed now. I think it had to do with my voltage being too low (1.3v for 4.5GHZ) so I crank it up a little (Still under 1.4). Rerunning Prime 95 so I will see what the deal with my temps is maybe.

The CPU temp readings from the BIOS are not idle temps that's all.

Looks like one of the sensors could be faulty. There should not be such a massive difference between the cores. I have a 2500k too and I've never seen temp differences like that (16c !).
