No idea but this is ridiculous. My roommate swears he didn't do anything (but I got a ban notice from League of legends from his account at work) but he may have been playing. IDK whats is/was going on but this is ridiculous. If it were a minor thing like a broken power key I'd understand but this could have burnt my house down :O
regardless of warranty this is unacceptable.

i would definitely try and talk to one of their managers or something, take it higher up and complain because with or without a warranty this is unacceptable

If it's out of warranty you have no other choice than clean it/repair it yourself or you could hire somebody or pay a friend that has experience with laptops to clean it for you.

About the fact that the laptop malfunctioned right after the warranty expired seems highly suspicious, i heard plenty of stories on many forums recently that manufacturers program/ estimate when their products will brake down and they adjust the warranty period accoriding to that so they can tell you to buy another one when the product's warranty expires and it brakes down.

I totally agree but the fellow said that since it is out of warranty they cannot do anything. The did say however, which was kind of curious, was "if we were to give you compensation, what sort of service/payment would you want?". Never had that happen to me before so hopefully it all works out well. I'll try contacting one of their US offices and ripping a manager or something a new one.

Yeah there has to be a way they can refund or RMA that, idc if my warranty was up. warranty or not, my laptop should not be melting keys.... Thats just insane! Gaming or not, the laptop should be engineered to throttle to keep temps at a steady level, most laptops in the last 5yrs have added the throttling to avoid such issues (if not all with a video card have for sure) and this is just unacceptable in my eyes, and I would most definitely follow up on Customer Service and if they cant "help you" I would bring it up with a manager, and file a formal complaint. And say there was a peice of paper or some sort just over those keys and not even the exhaust, some real damage could have been done to not just the laptop. Good luck with this, I am def subbing to see what happens

definitely rip them a new one and ask for them to fix it or at least a new keyboard

Well when I straight up said to the man on the phone 'Look i you guys can't help me I'm going to have to get my lawyer involved.', he said 'I obviously don't want you to sue us but you need to do what you need to do.'

Made me lol cuz I think he is secretly on my side. Anyways, formal complaint has been filed, I'll probably update this from my phone and/or new computer I'm ordering parts for when I get paid tomorrow (I'm taking the HD and battery out of this for good after I'm done with this post). Anyone know where to post a parts list for approval? (Although I'm a couple week old lurker the is my first post here).

A check for what the laptop would have been worth today had it not melted would probably be fair, I guess, as out of warranty = normally you're totally hooped.

After looking at those pics I am fairly confident that your CPU or GPU heated up something fierce! The heatpipe got so hot from 1 or both that it melted those. The fan could have failed for a short time too. I would jiggle the connection wire where it plugs into the board while the power it on to see if the fan stops working or unplug it and plug it back in at least.

How long have you owned it? Do you overclock it? I would replace the TIM on the CPU and GPU. You may want to invest in a cooling pad too.

We can help you do it yourself. It is pretty easy.
