Serious Problem (Melting) - Page 5

Thread Starter
I don't have any clear access to the mobo/fan connector without lifting the sticker that 'will void the warranty'. I have not overclocked it, I owned it for about 2 and a half years, again I can't access the GPU or CPU to reapply compound. (The parts may even be soldered on). As far as the ones who own my house are concerned it's too much of a fire risk and have confiscated the battery and charger

Working for the support of one of the major manufacturers for notebooks. Whenever we see something like melting/property damage, we say call in to the manufacturer so it can at least be reviewed.

Good luck!

If it's still under warranty, be sensible and RMA the darn thing.

Have a test of the laptop, turn it on for a while and see how long it takes to heat the thing up. Does the fan inside work at all?

There is no warranty to void. Pull that sticker and learn or take it to a technician.
