Corsair H50: RATTLING NOISE?!? - Page 3

I've been having the same issue with my H60 I just got 3 days ago. It was the only thing that went wrong with my new build and it sounded really bad (sounds like grinding, etc.)

Still, I'm getting idle temps of about 35c~ with my i5-2500k stock speed. The grinding actually went away after letting it run all day and after I "flicked" the cpu cooler unit (as suggested by corsair to force the air out!). This caused the sound to stop for a couple days (and my system sounded so quiet ) but then it decided to start coming back again today. Really starting to piss me off. I can flick it and it causes the noise to stop for a couple seconds but then it comes back.

I don't really want to have to RMA it as it functions just fine (still getting good temps), but the noise is really annoying. That and being the smart one I am, I threw out the stock cooler that came with my i5 so I'd have to shelve my new build while waiting for the RMA. Still hoping it works itself out ._.

Pretty much same here. I don't want to bother with the RMA until I know there's really a problem. Sounds like most people have an issue like this. As of this morning my CPU is running at 29C idle, so i'm liking things the way they are

Yah, I'm going to give it a week to sort out before going crazy and RMAing it. The noise is pretty audible on mine, enough so that I have to turn off my comp at night as I sleep in the same room as it for the moment xD.

Did anyone ask if your pump is running full speed and not being slowed by bios? I have an H50 and I heard water when I first installed it and had the lines stretched, but now I have it with tubes up top and not having any issues.

This noise, is it similar to the sound you hear when you are using a straw to drink and you reach the bottom of the drink?

My radiator fan is plugged in to my CPU fan slot, and the pump is plugged in to one of the secondary fan slots. Both can be regulated in the bios and both are set to 'turbo'. If there was a problem with the fan OR the pump, couldn't I expect to see evidence of it in my CPU temps? I'm running REALLY cool right now...

It's not a slurping sound by any means. Its a 'clanking' sound, but very faint. It sounds like a tiny fan with blades that are hitting a thin piece of paper. It's not really very loud at all and when everything's running it gets drowned out by other component / fan noise, but it's still there and still noticeable. I don't know if there's any kind of fan in the pump unit itself, but that's really what it sounds like.

Did you have to ship the yours out before they sent you a new one back? Also, did you RMA through Corsair or through the hardware vendor?

If it's not a big problem I dont want to go through the hassle of RMA. I would need to disassemble my entire computer and take everything off of my mobo to get to the back plate, and that is at least 2 hours of work that could expose my components to other hazards. I can sometimes be a clutz so I want to avoid doing that if possible. Some vendors will send you a replacement component before you ship yours out. If i can get that to happen, I won't have to remove the rear plate on my mobo and the process will be MUCH easier...
