Sad Day For My Rig

Hey everyone,

I just need to vent a bit (nobody else close to me likes/cares about computers haha). So here goes...I ordered a complete monster of a system from iBUYPOWER (sorry, but I'm a full time pharmacy student and have no time to build). This thing has dual GTX 580's (3gb!), an i7 2600K, a SSD, and about all the other amenities.

I drive an hour to pick up my computer today, and I'm freakin excited. This is my first gaming desktop and I've saved up for ages to afford it. I get home and the rig can't find any nvidia hardware. I'm like ***....so I open the rig again and realize something that I hadn't before. The PCI-E slot that my second 580 was in had cracked down the middle. It was completely shot.

I call iBUYPOWER and they send me the RMA stuff, but I can't help but feel sad. This thing was beautiful! Perfect wiring, great looks, and all the power I could ask for. They had great service at least.

Now, I must wait another few weeks for my machine to get back to me. I hope FedEx doesn't kill it again...Anyways feel free to give me your thoughts (positive or negative haha).

Thanks for reading

@Quantum, thank you for your support. I was worried about buying from iBUYPOWER, but I must say that they have greatly exceeded my expectations. The build was beautiful in the HAF 932 advanced. Everything was very well packaged (with foam protection inside and outside the case, box, ect.) Hopefully it arrives intact this time!

In all honesty you should have just built one especially if you're going to just "wait a few weeks" for it to get back. And what kind of case was it in? That could have been the problem especially one without support for the GPUs.
Feel your pain... I bet you where all psyched up to do some major gaming when you got it home too?
Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully the next rig you get will be intact

I'm off to school tomorrow, so while I wait I'll be getting tested over the top 200 drugs. There wouldn't be much time to build. The case was a HAF 932 and had some sort of expandable foam on the inside to help support the GPU's. I think it was a sharp drop that broke the PCI-E. The box weighed 63lbs

@Sethy666 Yes I was excited to push this thing hard. I saved up for three 3D monitors and the Nvidia wireless glasses too. Now they are gonna be sitting in my dorm room (living with close, trusted friends with a single room btw) without a beast to drive 3D images at 5670x1080. I'm trying to stay positive though!
