Fractal Designs Define R3 cooling capability with full fans - Page 2

Good question. Cutting out the bottom half provides an airflow path toward the PSU, which would then be deflected upwards by the bottom intake and the PSU itself. It would probably result in more air leaving the case through the PCI slots (if they're open/uncovered) and more general flow in the case below the graphics card. Cutting out the top half would make a clearer path into the case above the graphics card, providing more air for the motherboard and CPU cooler but deflected downward by the top intake.

Most of the CPU cooler's air would be coming from the top intake, the lowest GPU's air from the bottom intake, and any other GPUs' air from the side intake.

I'm going with the top half. I only use the 2 front and 1 rear. I use the controller to turn the SFLEX E's down further.

Its the board and CPU that need the most air in my situation. Ill post pics for OP when done.

I'm also thinking about moving the gpu down to the lower slot.

Edit: I tried using a fan up top, but it's far too loud for my tastes. ;-)
