CPU + Mobo power cord extensions.

My question is simple,

Building a system for a friend.

I'm going to list relevant parts,

Case

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119225

Mobo

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138317

PSU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139015

After reading comments it seemed obvious that I would need extensions for the CPU and main ATX 24pin power connections.

This lead me to

20+4 pin extension and CPU 4+4 pin extension

Is there any downside I wouldn't be aware of ? I've never needed to use extensions before for a PSU. I'm also getting 2 of the CPU extensions in case the i5-2500k OC needs more power, the mobo has 2 cpu power connections.

You shouldn't need PSU cable extensions with those components. If you do, you can always get the colored sleeved extension cables.

I was seeing comments that even in some mid-towers with the PSU on the bottom that the CPU power connector wouldn't reach, and I selected a HAF full tower. This will also allow me to route the CPU connecter behind the mobo backplate.

I just wasn't sure if there was something else I should know about the extenders that only experience would supply.

I had to use an extention on my rig to run the cord out of sight. The only thing to be warry about is a low quality part. I fancy the NZXT sleeved extentions myself.

Thanks for the recommendation, that lead me to

NZXT 9.84" 8Pin Motherboard Power Extension Cable

NZXT 9.84" 24 Pin Motherboard Extension Cable

I'm getting those instead of the "Athena Power" ones.

Wonder if NZXT makes PCI-E extensions.
