On my computer tower the power and hd activity led are blue and I was wondering if I could just cut the old ones strip the wire and heat shrink on new purple ones?

LOL no idea.. i'd leave it alone but if you wanna do that. Knock yourself out and see if it works.

Sure can. I'd look into it a bit more than just going straight on ahead with it, though. I'll google it for you as I'm interested now.

Just check the voltages of the current blue LED and get the same in purple. Usually 3V or 5V LED's, not sure.
